Whole-home repiping in Concord

Material Guide
Copper or PEX — which is right
for your home?
Choosing your pipe material
Both copper and PEX are excellent. The right choice depends on your budget, home age, and local water quality.
Copper
Premium, proven50+ year lifespan, doesn't expand or contract with temperature, antimicrobial properties. Higher material cost but the gold standard for residential plumbing.
PEX
Flexible, cost-effectiveEasier to install (fewer fittings), freeze-resistant, lower material cost. Slightly shorter lifespan but excellent for most residential applications.
Galvanized (what you probably have)
Replace itIf your home has galvanized steel pipe, it's corroding from the inside. Low pressure, rust-colored water, and frequent leaks are all symptoms. It's time.
Signs your home needs repiping
Don't wait until a pipe fails at the worst moment.
- Low water pressure throughout the home
- Rusty or discolored water from any fixture
- Frequent leaks in different locations
- Pipes are galvanized steel (pre-1970s home)
- You're planning a major renovation
- Water tastes or smells metallic
FAQ
Common questions
Everything homeowners ask before scheduling a repipe.
Whole-home repipe costs vary based on home size, material choice, and access conditions. Most residential repiping projects in Concord range from $4,000–$15,000. We give you a written fixed price after the assessment — no surprises, no hourly billing. Call (925) 288-0409 to schedule a free estimate.
Most single-family homes are repiped in 2–4 days. Larger homes or more complex layouts may take longer. We sequence the work to minimize time without water and patch drywall as we go — you're not left with holes in the walls.
Both are excellent materials. Copper is the gold standard — 50+ year lifespan, antimicrobial properties, no expansion/contraction concerns. PEX is flexible, freeze-resistant, and lower in material cost, making it a solid choice for most residential applications. We'll walk you through the trade-offs for your specific home and let you decide.
Yes. Drywall patching is included in our repipe scope. We use minimal access points and patch each one before we leave. You'll need to paint the patches, but the walls are closed and clean.
Not necessarily. We sequence the work floor by floor and keep water flowing as long as possible. There will be periods of a few hours with no water, typically during each phase. Most homeowners stay home — we coordinate the schedule with you daily.
Yes — whole-home repiping requires a permit in Concord and most Bay Area cities. We handle all permit pulling and coordinate the city inspection. The permit and inspection are included in your quote.
Key signs: consistently low water pressure, rust-colored or discolored water, frequent leaks in different locations, or a pre-1970s home with original galvanized steel pipe. If you're planning a major renovation, it's also the right time to repipe before walls close up. Call us for a free assessment.
Customer Reviews
Don't take our
word for it.
“Whole house repiped in two days. The crew was clean, professional, and communicated throughout. Water pressure is incredible now — wish I had done this years ago.”
“We had galvanized pipes that were killing our water pressure. Guerra Bros gave us a fixed price upfront, patched all the drywall, and pulled the permit. Couldn't ask for more.”
“I got three quotes. Guerra was not the cheapest but the most thorough — they walked the whole house, explained copper vs PEX, and gave me a written scope. No surprises. Highly recommend.”
